From this portrait it is very clear that you like Harry Potter. I like how you are actually doing something (holding that wand) instead of just sitting there. This action paired with the gaze creates a sense of concentration, as if you are really trying to cast a spell. The shadows included make it seem as if you were sitting in a dark room which adds to that underlying tone of wish-fullness and longing for something that may not actually be tangible. In addition, these cast shadows add to the drama of the piece. The snitch flying next to your head makes the composition balanced and makes the piece even more Harry Potter-y.Overall it is executed well in color pastels. The highlights are done effectively there is a good feeling of 3 dimensionality. I feel like if the background was black with variants of dark greys, it would make you as the figure pop out and cause the snitch to hide a bit which, would be interesting for the viewers to try to decipher what it is.
